I sewed this dress last Christmas and I am just now getting around to wearing it!  The design is extremely simple because I really wanted to focus on the fabric--it's a tight sticht tweed loaded with different colors.  I actually have a lot of this fabric left over and would love to find time to make a skirt!

Design Inspiration: Versace Structure

I designed and sewed this dress awhile back to wear in a design competition at Tim Hudson's beautiful Auburn home (he is a starting pitcher for the Atlanta Braves for those who didn't know!).  The fabric is what originally inspired me to sew the dress--made of 100% Silk with a linen like texture and silver sheen woven throughout.  I went for a simple, yet sophisticated silhouette that would look flattering on a petite figure--important considering I am only 5'2!  The dress design is fully lined in a silk satin and has a princess seamed bodice, pleated skirt front (specifically 5 inverted pleats), darts in the skirt back for shape and a back invisible zipper closure.

Intern life

Interning for Anne Barge has really been an amazing experience so far to say the least.  She is an honor to work with and I just love the other employees--I never want to leave!  It has opened my eyes to a whole different avenue of design and I am learning something new everyday!  Below I wanted to share a few snap shops of my experience:
