Obsessing over Outerwear

I know its not quite cold enough, but seriously has anyone started shopping for outerwear for this season?  I am obsessed with all the fun, bright colors--I honestly don't know what to choose!

Fall '12 Trends: style

{She Finds: Forget Bold Colors, This Fall is All About Bold Collars}

Of the above trends, my favorites are the contrasting collars and graphic sweaters as seen in New York's Fall/Winter 2012 Fashion Week. Many of these collars are actually accessories that easily tuck into sweaters and crewneck dresses--who wouldn't think thats cool! Its a simple way to make your outfit look a bit more polished, especially when the collar pops out with color.  The sweaters give a fun side to winter where your grandmother's old vintage vintage sweater can become a fashion keepsake!

In honor of my recent Fall '12 Trends: color post, I wanted to highlight my favorite colors from that report in some of my outfit posts for this fall season. This post is obviously for ultramarine green! Such a fun color to transition from spring to fall.  Would love to find this color in a plaid wool skirt or blazer!

J.Crew Black and White Popover

This fall you can definitely expect to see many prints trending, both layered or a continuation of the same print head to toe.  This is quite a change compared to the minimalist and color blocking trends we've seen in previous seasons.  I personally am excited about the ornate brocades, plaids, and black and white prints.

Above I copied a snippet from Pantone which describes each color chosen for the fall 2012 color report. It is quite obvious that their report is accurate as I've seen these colors in this years fall collections and I am also pleased with the colors selected to say the least!  Look out for more upcoming Fall '12 Trend posts where I will explore more fashion trends dealing with patterns, themes, and silhouettes.
